Learning new languages is hard and Super Junior-M Henry’s diet had to suffer because of it.
On July 8, Henry, along with Super Junior’s Eunhyuk and Ryewook, EXO’s Suho, Chanyeol, and Kris, appeared as guests on KBS’ Hello. There, a man from Kenya came with the problem that sometimes Koreans are prejudiced against him because of where he’s from.
Going into the subject of people of different ethnicities, Eunhyuk revealed that Henry was Chinese Canadian and how hard it was for Henry to read the menu when he first came to Korea.
“There’s a lot of things on the menu and words that he didn’t know,” explained Eunhyuk. “So for an entire year, he only ordered the bangyetang (chicken stew). It was bangyetang for lunch and dinner.”
Henry added, “There are so many good Korean food items on the menu. At first, I could only pronounce bangyetang correctly, so I always ordered that.”
